Just when you thought
it was safe, the Cayce - West Columbia Jaycees are
back for another season with the best and most extreme haunted house
type attraction in the midlands. Nothing ever stays the same. There's
always new thrills, chills, and blood spills to scare you mindless. Come
experience the madness and mayhem in this 25+ minute indoor tour. There
will be no place to run and no where to hide from the creatures that
lurk inside the midland's longest running haunted attraction. Proceeds
from this event benefits charitable causes. Due to the intense nature
of this attraction, it is not recommended for people with
heart/respiratory ailments, claustrophobia, women who are pregnant,
children under age 12 without an adult escort, or people with just poor
bladder control.
Directions:
The Hall of Horrors is located at the corner of 12th Street and Walter
Price in Cayce - just across the street from Cayce City Hall and
approximately 1/2 mile down 12th Street from Krispy Kreme. For more

Wompus Woods
The trail takes
approximately 35 to 45 minutes to complete and the Fright
is plentiful. WARNING, this is no two minute trail! No turning back,
once
the entrance door is slammed shut! From a high-bridge built by a special
team of 9 and 10 year olds, to the smelly ole cave to a dark, cold
swamp, an
old creepy Grave yard, and Dungeon, to the Monster Motel where the
Creatures will try to invite you to spend the night, to all the other
surprises that Wompus Woods dishes out at you, the adventure is awesome.
Oh! Watch out for the wet spots, some people get more scared than
others...hehehe...AND... watch out behind "EVERY " tree, no telling who
or what's watching you as you walk these Deep, Dark woods! The
"WOMPUS,"
well, we've seen him in person, or should we say, in huge form, only 4
times in the last few years, however, he sees us every time that you
make a step. Read the History of the WOMPUS and then you'll have to
decide if you still want to chance it. Just remember, It will be worse
than your worst

splits. Do not follow 121. Go straight on highway 34 until becomes
Boundary St. Turn Right onto Dixie Drive / highway 34 bypass –
go 2.4 miles. Turn left onto Adelaide St – go 1/4 mile. Fairgrounds is
on the right at the bottom of the hill.
From Prosperity - Follow Highway 76 towards Newberry. Turn left
at first stoplight onto Highway 34 Bypass (Cromley Ford and Piedmont
Tech Newberry campus will be on the right) go 2/10 mile. Turn Right at
first intersection onto Adelaide Street – go 1/4 mile. Fairgrounds is
on the right at the bottom of the hill.
From Laurens/Clinton - Follow Highway 76 towards Newberry to the
Highway 76 /Wilson Rd. intersection. Stay on Highway 76 / Wilson Rd

through the Haunted Woods located behind the Fire Department in
Prosperity SC. The Prosperity/Stoney Hill Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary
presents their 4th annual Haunted Woods.
Directions from Columbia: Take I-26 towards Spartanburg,
get off Exit 82 and make a left at exit ramp and continue on Hwy 773
until you reach a stop sign. At the stop sign take a right onto Hwy 76;
keep straight for next four miles. You will see First Community Bank on
your left. Turn left at the bank (if you see the Prosperity Ball field
on your left, you have gone too far). You will be in center of town with
town clock on your right. Make left, at traffic light make a right (Piggly
Wiggly grocery will be on your right). Make next immediate right and you
will be at Fire Station. (If you cross railroad tracks you missed the
turn)
Directions from Batesburg-Leesville: Take Hwy 391 into
Prosperity. Sligh's Market will be on your right, continue on 391. You
will pass cemetery on your right. Pass over railroad tracks and take
first immediate left. Fire Station is on your left across from Piggly
Wiggly grocery.

34/76 into Newberry. Go five miles on 76 you will cross railroad tracks
