August 13 - 14, Pelion: 29th Annual SC Peanut Party
Location:   Pelion is located at intersection of US HWY 178 & SC HWY 302
About:  Friday, August 13th the Peanut Party officially begins with the blessing of the pots followed by a performance from the Pelion High School Band.  Up to 130 bushels of peanuts are boiled in huge pots near the community center beginning the afternoon prior to the party and throughout the night by the Pelion Ruritan club members and their families.  An exciting event schedule for the entire family!  Featuring Peanut Party Parade, Library Book Sales, MotorSports Car Show, Battle of The Bands. Amusement Rides, Eating Contest, Arts & Crafts and more!

August 14, Florence: Little Miss Starlet Beauty Pageant

About:  live music festival benefiting local charities - presented by the Redneck Performing Arts Association.

August 21, Florence:  Comedy Night with James Gregory
Location: Florence Civic Center
Times:  8:00 PM - 10:45 PM
About:  Comedy;  Billed as the Funniest Man in America, James Gregory returns to Florence for more side splitting laughter in the Pee Dee region.

August 27 - 28, Williamston:  Williamston Spring Water Festival
Location:  Williamston
About:  Arts & Crafts,  Health Fair,  Live Music,  Gospel music showcase,
 Free Children's Activities, Amusement Rides, Spring Water 5K Run, 1 Mile Fun Run, Antique Car Show, Ride&Bike Show, Food  Exhibits, Souvenirs and more!

August 27, York:  Summerfest
Location: York
About:  The group "Flashback" returns to kick off Summerfest at the August Downtown Live. The Friday, August 27th concert will feature the six-piece group playing a mix of Beach, Oldies and Classic Rock music.  Palmetto Fresh Market will be on hand to offer fresh food for sale, and the Chamber will offer soft drinks and adult beverages for sale.

August 28, Bennettsville: The Cookie Cup 
Location: Camp Sandy Ridge, Bennettsville
About:  Imagine all the fun of a traditional 5K race, then throw in obstacles and Girl Scout cookies – and you've got The Cookie Cup! The race will take place at Camp Sandy Ridge and all proceeds will go directly to Girl Scouts of Eastern South Carolina.  Starting at 9 AM the Race features obstacles including a clay pit to crawl in, tires to jump through, and walls to climb over. The first place male and female winners will receive a year's supply of Girl Scout cookies!

August 28 - 29, Charleston: 5th Annual Original Charleston Beach Music and Shag Festival
Location: National Guard Armory, 68 Hawood St
About:  Step Up for 2 great days of Music and Shagging featuring The Melody Makers, Jim Quick & Coastline, The Mighty Tams, Butch Halpin & The Carolina Sounds and more!  Tickets $30 or $50 for both days.

August 28, Columbia:  Auction & Wild Game Feast

About:  Wild Game, Wild Items, and Wild Times... Hosted by South Carolina Wildlife Federation, the "Wild Summer Nite" features a Silent Auction, Wild Game Feast, Live Auction and Prize Drawings.

Trinity Collegiate School is hosting three sports camps this summer: a running camp, a soccer camp, and a basketball camp. Camps will include instruction, technique, practice, and plenty of opportunities for fun. Camps will be divided according to skill level.
