Development

The Alliance provides financial assistance to individual artists, arts organizations, schools, and teachers throughout each year. Our initiatives include:

  •  the Quarterly Grants Program, which provides support to individual artists for professional development and career advancement as well as to organizations and schools for a wide variety of arts projects, activities, programs, and events;

  •  the Quarterly Teacher Incentive Grants Program, which provides  support for arts projects, activities, programs, and events teachers wish to pursue or for which there are no curricular funds; and

  •  the Betty Ann Darby Scholarship, which provides scholarship assistance on an annual basis to a Florence County high school senior who will be pursuing a higher education degree with a major in fine arts or arts education.

  • the Excellence in Arts Education Awards, which recognize the most outstanding graduating seniors in the arts programs of all Florence County public high schools, totaling a minimum of 20 students per year.

The Florence Regional Arts Alliance collaborates with municipal and community agencies in order to provide a broad range of community programming, such as Concerts In The Park Series, ArtsFest, and 4th of July " Spirit of Florence Celebration" , to showcase local area and regional talent as well as to provide quality entertainment for the entire family.  In addition, The Alliance recognizes individual contributions to the community through the arts by awarding the John Baker Distinguished Service Award and business commitment to the arts through ongoing financial support by awarding the Business and Arts Partnership Award.

These activities impact the lives of approximately 40,000 students and citizens each year, but they would not be possible with out the generosity of the community.  We, therefore, ask that you invest in our organizational efforts, throughout the year, to make Florence County a better place in which to live, work, and raise a family.

Thank you.
The Florence Regional Arts Alliance
